What to Expect During Your 40 Sessions

A week-by-week look at how your body heals, repairs, and restores through HBOT.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a cumulative treatment. While some effects appear early, the most meaningful and lasting benefits build over time. Here’s what a typical 40-session protocol looks like and how your body responds at each stage:

Sessions 1–5: Getting Started

Your body begins to adjust to high-dose oxygen therapy.
What’s happening physiologically:
  • Oxygen levels in your blood plasma increase significantly.
  • Early anti-inflammatory effects begin.
  • Tissues begin receiving more oxygen, reducing local hypoxia.
What you might feel:
  • Some people notice subtle boosts in energy or mental clarity.
  • Mild fatigue or light headaches are common as your system adjusts.

Sessions 6–10:
Early Therapeutic Changes

Inflammation begins to decrease and healing mechanisms kick in.
What’s happening:
  • Systemic inflammation is reduced.
  • Swelling starts to subside in damaged or sensitive tissues.
  • The immune system begins to regulate more efficiently.
  • Cellular repair is triggered by reactive oxygen and nitric oxide signaling.
Conditions often improved at this stage:
  • Post-concussion symptoms, brain fog, and fatigue in TBI patients.
  • Wound healing may become visibly faster.

Sessions 11–20:
Cellular Repair & Circulation Gains

Your body starts to regenerate from the inside out.
What’s happening:
  • Angiogenesis (new blood vessel formation) begins.
  • Stem cells are mobilized and begin migrating to sites of injury.
  • Mitochondria ramp up ATP production, increasing cellular energy.
What you might feel:
  • Clearer thinking, more sustained energy, and less brain fog.
  • Noticeable pain relief, especially in chronic or musculoskeletal conditions.

Sessions 21–30:
Regeneration Accelerates

Deeper healing sets in as the body builds and rebuilds.
What’s happening:
  • Angiogenesis strengthens and deepens.
  • Collagen production rises, improving skin, connective tissue, and wound healing.
  • Oxygen delivery becomes more efficient due to new vessel growth.
  • Neuroplasticity (brain adaptability) may increase—important for cognitive recovery.
What you might feel:
  • Better focus, mood, and memory—especially in neurological conditions.
  • Accelerated healing of chronic wounds, ulcers, and surgical sites.

Sessions 31-40:
Stabilization & Long-Term Benefits

Your body consolidates and extends the healing work already underway.
What’s happening:
  • Regenerative and anti-inflammatory effects are sustained and stabilized.
  • DNA repair processes may activate; telomere lengthening has been observed in some studies.
  • Stem cells are now actively participating in tissue repair and rejuvenation.
After your protocol ends:
  • Benefits often continue to evolve over the following weeks or months.
  • Chronic conditions like Long COVID, fibromyalgia, and fatigue may see their most dramatic improvements now.

Additional Notes on the Healing Timeline

Your body consolidates and extends the healing work already underway.
Angiogenesis
typically starts between sessions 10–20 and continues through the protocol.
Neuroplasticity and neurogenesis
are more pronounced after session 20.
Stem cell activity
begins around session 20 and peaks during the final 10 dives.

Healing Takes Time
But It Lasts

Each session builds upon the last. HBOT’s real power lies in its cumulative, regenerative potential—supporting not just symptom relief but deeper healing at the cellular and neurological levels.
